1. Sponsor and Definitions
The “Sponsor” is 11830180 Canada Inc., doing business as Shop4CharityTM. The Sponsor, in its sole and absolute discretion, will use the promotion to raise funds for multiple causes and can partner with them to utilize the sweepstakes prize board (in part or in whole) and handle various aspects of the Sweepstake on its behalf. In these Official Rules, where the context permits or requires, the term “Sponsor” includes these third parties.“Sweepstakes Draw Code” means a unique 8-digit numeric code that evidences entry into the Sweepstakes and will be used for draw purposes. All times mentioned in these Official Rules are Pacific Time (“PT”) unless otherwise specified. The “Entry Period” is the period begins on January 1, 2020 at 12:00:01 a.m. PT (i.e. midnight) and ends on June 12, 2020 at 11:59:59 p.m. PT, with earlier entry deadlines applicable to certain prizes, as set out in more detail below.
The Sweepstakes is open only to individuals who are: (a) legal residents of Canada (excluding residents of the province of Quebec); and (b) over the age of majority in their province or territory or state of residence; and (c) located within Canada at the time of entry and possess a valid draw code. You are NOT eligible to enter the Sweepstakes if, at any time on or after July 1, 2019 you are or were: (a) a director, officer, employee, representative or agent of Sponsor, or any of their respective parent, subsidiaries, or service agencies, any entity engaged in the development, production or distribution/handling of materials for the Sweepstakes, or any other entity engaged in the administration or execution of this Sweepstakes (by the “Sweepstakes Entities”); or (b) the member of any immediate families (defined as parents, siblings, children, and spouses, regardless of where they live) or households (whether or not related) of any of the foregoing such persons. The Sponsor shall have the right at any time to require proof of identity and/or eligibility to participate in the Sweepstakes. Failure to provide such proof may result in disqualification.
3. How To Enter
No purchase or payment is necessary to enter or win. A purchase will not increase your chances of winning. Draw codes can be awarded by the Sponsor as an incentive at any time.All no purchase necessary entries must be received by The Sponsor on or before the published Entry Deadline(s).
A. To Enter the Sweepstakes with Purchase:
To enter the Sweepstakes by purchasing a calendar, greeting card pack, or other offerings, go online to shop4charity.com, shop4charity.ca, or related and/or affiliated sites, (each and collectively, the “Official Website”) or by phone, call 1-855-248-9831, or other associated phone numbers. By mail, entrants can submit an order form to Shop4Charity 2020 Million Dimes Sweepstakes, P.O. Box 10, Brockville, ON, Canada K6V 5T8 to purchase a Sweepstakes calendar (the “Calendar”) or other offers. Mail-in orders must be received on or before the applicable Entry Deadline. Purchaser must provide his/her full name, complete address, and telephone number (including area code). Only the purchaser will be considered an entrant. Once you have provided the requisite information and completed the purchase transaction, purchaser will be automatically entered and draw codes generated consistent with purchase. Draw codes will be mailed and/or emailed to purchaser.The MILLION DIMES JULY CASH CALENDAR and the AUGUST SUPER CALENDAR will have a physical version available. The AUGUST ADVENTURE CALENDAR is a digital-only product.All product orders will be shipped within 90 days for those purchases made prior to March 31, 2020. All products ordered from April 1, 2020 to the close of the Entry Period (June 12, 2020) will be shipped and delivered prior to the first draw and publishing of same on July 1, 2020. Codes are valid and are entered in the sweepstakes at time of order. If Calendar(s) and/or Sweepstakes Draw Code(s) are not received within these specified time periods, the Recipient should contact the Sponsor to follow up on the order.Orders can be refunded within 30 days of purchase and before the first draw for which the purchaser qualifies. Draw codes associated with a refunded order are null and void.
B. To Enter the Sweepstakes without Purchase:
To enter the Sweepstakes without purchasing a product, entrants can send a handwritten entry by mail to: Shop4Charity Million Dimes Sweepstakes, P.O. Box 10, Brockville, ON, Canada K6V 5T8, Attn: 2020 Sweepstakes Entry Request. Your Entry must be legibly hand-printed or written on a blank 8.5” x 11” piece of paper, and must include: (a) an original essay of 200-250 words about three charities you support and why (the “Essay”); and (b) your full name, complete mailing address, telephone number (including area code), and a valid email address. Each Essay must be a hand-printed, original composition by the entrant, written specifically for the Sweepstakes. You must also include your return address on the exterior of the envelope, which must be legibly hand-printed in ink. Each Entry must be in a separate outer stamped envelope. Entries that are photocopied, hand-stamped, computer-generated, or otherwise mechanically produced or reproduced, without a legible postmark, or that are not printed or written manually in ink, will NOT be honoured and will be deemed void. Upon receipt of a valid Sweepstakes entry request, you will receive one (1) Entry into the Sweepstakes and will receive a unique Sweepstakes Draw Code evidencing such Entry for each valid request received. The Sweepstakes Draw Code will be emailed to each entrant prior to the end of the Entry Period. Please check your email and spam filters. If Sweepstakes Draw Code is not received within twenty-five (25) business days, please contact the Sponsor. LIMIT: one (1) FREE Entry per person per day during the Entry Period. Each Entry request must be in a separate outer stamped envelope, postmarked during the Entry Period, and must be received on or before the applicable Entry Deadline.For purposes of ‘Entry without Purchase’ or No Purchase Necessary (NPN), each Entry is considered an ‘Order’.
Each Sweepstakes Draw Code can only be used one (1) time. All Sweepstakes Draw Codes shall be subject to verification and shall be null and void if they are found to not have been obtained or submitted in accordance with these Official Rules. Sponsor is not responsible for late, lost, damaged, mutilated, garbled, undelivered, or postage due Sweepstakes Draw Codes, or Entry requests. No mechanical reproductions of Sweepstakes Draw Codes permitted. Use of automated devices is prohibited; automated Entries (including but not limited to Entries submitted using any robot, script, macro or other automated service) are not permitted and may result in disqualification. By participating in the Sweepstakes, each entrant unconditionally accepts and agrees to comply with and abide by these Official Rules and by the decisions of the Sponsor in respect to the Sweepstakes, which decision shall be final and binding with respect to all aspects of the Sweepstakes. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of the person who submitted any only Entry, the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at entry will be deemed to be the entrant. The "authorized account holder" is the natural person assigned an email address by an access provider, service provider, or other person or organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the account associated with the submitted address. The potential winner may be required to show proof of being the authorized account holder.
4. Entry Deadlines, Prize Draws and Winner Selection
Unless indicated otherwise below, each prize draw described below will be conducted at 9:00:00 a.m. PT (i.e. 12:00 noon ET) under the approved procedure set out below. Draws will be conducted from all eligible entries received by the applicable Entry Deadline.All draws are conducted with a Random Number Generator system (RNG) following an approved procedure; as established by the accounting firm Durand & Associates and under the supervision of internal directors and/or a third party accounting firm.
Winning a prize is contingent on complying with these Official Rules, including the prize claim conditions set out below. Selected participants and winners of all prizes will remain eligible for all future draws.All non-cash prizes have a cash equivalent option.
5. Winner Notification and Prize Claim Conditions
Before any potential winner can be declared a winner of any prize, they must first (i) correctly answer a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question (the “Skill-Testing Question”) without assistance of any kind whether mechanical, electronic or otherwise, and (ii) read, execute and return a declaration of eligibility/release of liability (the “Prize Claim Document”) to the redemption center (the “Redemption Centre”) by the date indicated on the Prize Claim Document.
Potential winners must contact the Sponsor by email, phone or mail within 180 days of internet posting. Once contacted, the Sponsor will administer the required Skill-Testing Question to that individual. Following which, and provided the selected entrant correctly answers the Skill-Testing Question, the Sponsor will send that individual (via regular mail delivery and/or email to the addresses confirmed by the potential winner), the Prize Claim Document that the potential winner will be required to complete and return to the Redemption Centre, in a postage-paid envelope which the Redemption Centre will provide to him/her, by email or by fax. The Prize Claim Document will contain, among other things, a declaration of eligibility and compliance with the Official Rules, a liability release and a publicity release and must be actually received
(properly completed and signed by the potential winner) by the Redemption Centre on or before a date which the Redemption Centre will specify to the potential winner. When the Redemption Centre receives the completed Prize Claim Document, the Redemption Centre will begin the verification process described in these Official Rules. It is planned that the Redemption Centre will inform the applicable entrant, if he/she is not a verified winner, within approximately twenty (20) business days from the date the completed Prize Claim Document and any other required materials are actually received by the Redemption Center. If the potential is verified as a winner, the Redemption Center will award the prize based on the information in the paperwork. Return of any prize or winner notification as undeliverable, failure of selected entrant to respond within 180 days of internet posting, failure to provide proof of eligibility (if requested), Prize Claim Document, or other required documentation by the specified deadline, failure to correctly answer the Skill-Testing Question, or other non-compliance with these Official Contest Rules may result in disqualification, forfeiture of the prize. In the event an entrant is disqualified, the entrant will have no claim against the Sponsor or any other person respecting the forfeited prize or the Sweepstakes.If an entrant is disqualified or if a potential winner fails to contact the Sponsor within the allotted time, unclaimed prizes are contributed to charity cause partners of equal cash value.
The number of prizes available to be won will diminish as the prizes are awarded. The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received by the applicable Entry Deadline, unless otherwise stated below. All prizes must be accepted as awarded, except Sponsor reserves the right to substitute any prize with an alternate prize (or vehicle model) of equal or greater monetary value if the prize cannot be awarded for any reason. Prizes are not transferable by the winner and may not be redeemed for cash unless otherwise indicated. For any travel prizes, winner and guest must travel together on the same itinerary and are responsible for all required travel documents. Winners are responsible for any additional expenses associated with the prize not expressly stated as included below. The actual value of travel may vary depending on the point of departure, date of booking and other factors; winner is not entitled to the difference (if any) between the actual and approximate prize value. All prize values are based on 2020 prices and may vary for the prizes, as awarded.
A. MILLION DIMES CASH CALENDAR PRIZES:
There are thirty-one (31) cash prizes available to be won in July, one (1) representing each day of the month. The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received during the Entry Period. One (1) prize of $5,000, five (5) prizes of $4,000 and twenty-five (25) of $3,000.The MILLION DIMES CASH CALENDAR has one (1) Grand Prize available to be won, consisting of a cash prize in the amount of either $10,000,000 or $10,000. The odds of winning each potential cash prize amount is as follows: $10,000,000 (1:600 or 0.2%), $10,000 (599:600 or 99.8%). The Entry Deadline for the MILLION DIMES CASH CALENDAR is June 12, 2020.The MILLION DIMES CASH CALENDAR will also award an additional one-hundred & eighty-four (184) daily prizes in 2020 from July 1 to December 31 of $1,000. The Sponsor will conduct a random draw under the supervision of a third-party monitor to select one (1) entrant to participate in the Grand Prize Draw. The selected entrant will then be entered immediately into the Grand Prize Draw for the opportunity to win a cash prize of $10,000,000, or $10,000. Sponsor’s representative will randomly select one (1) pink ball from among the six hundred (600) pink balls available. Each of the six hundred (600) pink balls will have a pre-established cash value: one (1) ball will have a $10,000,000 pre-established cash prize value; and five hundred and ninety-nine (599) balls will have a $10,000 pre-established cash prize value. The winner will be awarded the pre-established cash prize value associated with the ball drawn. Only one (1) cash prize of either $10,000,000 or $10,000 will be awarded.The Entry Deadline for the Grand Prize through the MILLION DIMES SWEEPSTAKES is June 12, 2020. The $10,000 OR $10,000,000 GRAND PRIZE DRAW: On November 24, 2020 at 9:00 am PT (i.e. 12:00 noon ET). Additional Prize restrictions:
Unused travel services are not exchangeable for alternate arrangements. Prize package is subject to availability at the time of booking. Not all destinations serviced from all gateways as well as some destinations may not be serviced year-round. Guests of winner must depart and return on the same itinerary. All bookings are subject to 100% cancellation penalties. Once the booking has been confirmed, no changes can be made to the passenger names and/or date of travel. The winner and his/her travel guests must each have proof of valid travel documents and necessary permissions prior to ticketing. The winner and their travel guests must be Canadian or U.S. residents to qualify for the Prize. The winner and his/her travel guests must travel on the same itinerary. The winner and his/her travel guests must have the right to enter the destination country. A minimum of one person, either the prize winner or one of the travel guests, must hold a valid credit card to cover any incidentals or any other requirement that may be required at the hotel. Ground transfers to and from the winner and/or travelling guest’s residence and designated airport and all other expenses not specified herein or listed within the travel brochure, including but not limited to telephone or fax, gratuities, optional tours, taxes and fees, insurance, medical travel documents, personal expenses, and any other costs not specifically stated herein as being included, are the sole responsibility of the winner and his/her guests. In the eventuality that the winner and his/her guests reside in a city that requires transportation to an airport, the costs associated with such transportation are the winner’s and his/her guest’s entire responsibility. No extensions will be permitted, and the prize cannot be exchanged, transferred or substituted for cash except that Shop4Charity reserves the right to offer a comparable product in the event of a vacation package cancellation, Act of God or other unforeseen circumstances. The prize winner shall not be entitled to receive, in cash, certificate or otherwise, the balance of any amount representing the difference of the prize retail value and actual cost unless cash is selected. No frequent flyer miles will be available. Guests must have reached the age of majority in his or her jurisdiction of residence, or travel at all times with his or her parent or legal guardian.
7. Limitations of Liability
By participating in the Sweepstakes, entrants releases and agrees to hold the Sweepstakes Entities, and every director, officer, employee, agent, manager and member of any one or more of the Sweepstakes Entities harmless from and against any and all costs, injuries, losses or damages (including without limitation, direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive damages) of any kind, due in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, to participation in the Sweepstakes or in any activity related to the Sweepstakes, or due in whole or part to the receipt, possession, use or misuse of any prize. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, therefore such exclusions may not apply to you. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the Sweepstakes Entities are not responsible for illegible, misdirected, lost, damaged, late, incomplete or stolen Entries, Entry requests, and/or submissions of Prize Claim Document, which may be judged as void; for any damage to an Entrant’s computer system or wireless device which is occasioned by accessing the Official Website, by participating in the Sweepstakes, or by redeeming or attempting to redeem a prize; for interrupted, inaccessible, lost, incompatible or unavailable networks, servers, satellites, internet service providers, wireless carriers, websites (including the Official Website), or other connection; for availability or accessibility problems arising in connection with or over the course of the Sweepstakes or any matter related to the Sweepstakes; for miscommunications, scrambled, jumbled, failed, delayed or misdirected computer, telephone or cable transmissions, or hardware or software malfunctions, failures or difficulties; postal delays or other mail disruptions; for any technical malfunctions, failures, or difficulties, printing errors or omissions clerical, typographical or other error(s) or omissions in any materials connected to Sweepstakes including, without limitation, the activation code, Sweepstakes Draw Codes, Prize Claim Document, communication whether written or oral, the offering or announcement of any Prize or in any Prize notification or email or letter; for any errors or omissions or failures of any kind, whether human, mechanical, clerical, electronic, interruption of power, or technical in nature; or, for the incorrect or inaccurate capture of information, or the failure to capture any information. Sponsor reserves the right to correct any typographical, printing, computer programming or operator errors. In the event of any discrepancy between any printed materials and these Official Rules, the terms of these Official Rules shall govern. The Sweepstakes materials (including Entries) and Prize Claim Document submitted are the sole property of the Sponsor and will not be returned. Entrants assume all risk of loss, damage, destruction, delay and misdirection of Prize Claim Document and are advised to obtain insurance.
8. General Disclosures
A. Power or Other Interruptions affecting Sweepstakes Entry
If there is a power or a computer-related interruption of any nature whatsoever before an activation code, which an Entrant has attempted to enter into the Sweepstakes, has actually been received and recorded by the Sweepstakes Computer, it is possible that the activation code may have been lost, and consequently forfeited. When power is restored or the interruption corrected, the Entrant who experienced the interruption should sign in to the Official Website and try to enter the applicable activation code to determine if that activation code or was received and recorded by the Sweepstakes Computer before the interruption occurred. If the applicable activation code was received and recorded by Sweepstakes Computer, an onscreen message will state that the activation code has already been entered into the Sweepstakes. The Sponsor is not responsible for any activation codes lost as a result of power or computer-related interruption. By participating in the Sweepstakes and by submitting Prize Claim Materials, except where legally prohibited, each verified winner hereby agrees and grants the Sponsor the right, but not the obligation, to use his/her name, voice, and likeness, along with his/her address (city/town/village and State/Province/Territory) and any statements made by or attributed to such Winner in any and all media (including the internet), now known or hereafter devised, in perpetuity and throughout the universe, for advertising and promotional purposes in connection with the Sweepstakes without further notice, review, approval or compensation and releases the Sponsor and all directors, officers, employees, agents, advertising and promotional agencies, representatives, service agencies and independent contractors of the Sponsor from any and all liability with respect thereto.
It is each Entrant’s responsibility to ensure that he/she has complied in full with all conditions and requirements contained in these Official Rules. The Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who is found to be tampering or interfering in any way with the process involved in entering the Sweepstakes or with the operation of the Sweepstakes, to be acting in violation of these Official Rules, or to be acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with the apparent intent to disrupt or undermine the legitimate operation of the Sweepstakes, or to any, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. The Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages and other remedies from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law.
C. Printing and Production Errors or Omissions
Sponsor reserves the right, without prior notice and at any time, to terminate Sweepstakes, in whole or in part, or to modify, suspend or extend the Sweepstakes in any way and for any reason. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the Sponsor may terminate the Sweepstakes, whole or in part, or modify, suspend or extend the Sweepstakes, if it determines, in its sole discretion, that the Sweepstakes is impaired or corrupted or that fraud or technical problems, failures or malfunctions (including, without limitation, computer viruses, glitches, or printing or production errors or omissions) have destroyed or severely undermined the proper play, integrity, and/or feasibility of the Sweepstakes. In the event the Sponsor is impeded or prevented from continuing with the Sweepstakes as planned or intended by any event beyond its control, including, but not limited to fire, flood, natural or manmade epidemic or health hazard or crisis, earthquake, explosion, labour dispute or strike, act of God or public enemy, satellite or equipment failure, riot or civil disturbance, terrorist threat or activity, war (declared or undeclared), any federal, provincial, territorial or local government law, order, or regulation, public health crisis, the order of any court or jurisdiction, or by any other cause not reasonably within the Sponsor’s control, then the Sponsor shall have the right to modify, suspend, extend or terminate the Sweepstakes. Only the number of prizes described in these Official Rules will be awarded in the Sweepstakes. The sole responsibility and liability of any irregular Activation Code or Sweepstakes Draw Code caused by the Sponsor is replacement with another randomly selected Activation Code or Sweepstakes Draw Code, as solely determined by the Sponsor. Replacement shall be the sole and exclusive remedy under such circumstances. If, due to printing or production errors or omissions or for any other reason whatever, the number of potential prize winners coming forward seeking to claim prizes exceeds the number of prizes as set out in these Official Rules, in the sole discretion of Sponsor, the winner may be selected in a random drawing from among all persons making purportedly valid claims for such prize(s).
D. Waiver and Invalidity
Sponsor's failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these Official Rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. In the event that a provision is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable or illegal, these Official Rules shall otherwise remain in effect and shall be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or illegal provision were not contained herein. Headings and captions are used in these Official Rules solely for ease of reference, and shall not be deemed or considered to affect in any manner the meaning or intent of these Official Rules or any provision thereof.

In consideration of being awarded a Prize in the Sweepstakes, each Prize winner agrees to the fullest extent permitted by law to participate fully and without compensation in any announcement(s) and/or presentation ceremony/ceremonies and/or event or events organized or presented by the Sponsor in its sole discretion related to the granting of the prize. The potential winner may be required to sign a document to this effect.
